& do this, of course, when

a) u’ve only been in hosp for a few days so far

b) those stethoscopes hanging arnd ur neck? well, they’ve yet to touch a pt’s chest (urs & ur poor fam members not included)

c) despite posing like u do major CTVS surgery every day (would u look at Kenneth & GZ!) and saving lives is like, u know, pretty much all in a day’s work, u consider it a great achievement if u can find ur way to the OT w/o getting lost twice

d) once u’r there, change then spend many mins giggling at each other in ur gunny sacks, shower caps & PCK boots

e) ur frens clamour arnd u asking “how was it? how was it?” when u’r e 1^st in e grp to do a PR

f) u give lofty diagnoses like ‘giddiness secondary to postural hypotension secondary to diabetic autonomic neuropathy’ for ur CFSC test

g) u & ur overenthu grpmates hole up in e PT corner poking urselves silly as u attempt to learn venepuncture, & in e process, some of u end up w upper limbs resembling those of serial IV drug abusers

h) & finally, I just remembered this:

we were in clinic, examining a middle-aged M with orchiditis & epididymitis. so we all had to palpate there lah, 1 by 1…well i think harti was e last or sth…anyway when it was her turn…

Some ah beng ringtone blares…

Pt: hello!

Harti: er…(looks up at pt from kneeling position, with hand still on pt’s inflamed scrotum)

Tutor: carry on! carry on!

Pt: hello, ya i’m in e clinic…(& he proceeds to have a nice long conversation in hokkien, while standing there w his bottom-half undressed, harti diligently palpating away, & e rest of us struggling to contain our laughter)

this post is in honour of the fact tt next wk, our jrs will be taking our places as e lowly scum n blur sotongs of e medical hierarchy. totally cant believe its been a yr! still rem us green & all excited at ttsh last yr, queuing on free cone day at Ben & Jerry’s, & like some karma or sth we’re back at ttsh again this yr, still queuing for our cones!

so guys, now tt we’re doing our last M3 postings, how far have we come since those blissful & ignorant CSFC days? & how far haf we to go? we’ve barely crossed the start line of e long road ahead…oh well…shall take things as they come!

:: Happy 22nd Birthday Siti ::

My dear comrades,

Thank you for gathering here in short notice. Today we are gathered to mark the special occasion that falls on the 8th of April every year. Today is a day of partying. Today is a day of rejoice. Today is a day of passion. Today is a day of intense gratification. Today, my friends, is the day our beloved socialite, talented photographer, impassioned ambassador, esteemed leader, cherished chef and most importantly our much treasured friend Siti Syuhada was born.

Although she is not in our midst right now, let us be assured that she is having an awesome time right now over in France with the native likes of Mathieus and Pierres and the migrant likes of ala-Zidanes and Thurams.

Siti, we are proud of you and we wish you all the best in all the endeavors you undertake in the future. Have a great birthday in France and take care of yourself! Down the road, just remember your poor doctor friends and get us free tickets to France when you become the Ambassador to France. ; )

Let us remember some vivid memories of our friend from the last few years...

Now for e jolly gd joke...
We were at AMK comm hosp and Yucai was presenting his case. We all had to note down stuff abt e pt's functional ability fr e PT form. In e form, W/C stood for wheelchair, but Yucai assumed it was abt pt's toileting (as in Water Closet). So he reported that the pt's bowel motions were....then read out e sentence under W/C...

"slow but still able to propel"

hahahahaha! ever heard anyone describing their motions in terms of speed & ease of propulsion?

k thats it for e joke!
